RunMoa Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 13, 2026

RunMoa reads running workouts from Apple Health and presents them in a runner-focused format on your iPhone.

Overview

No account is required. RunMoa does not upload Apple Health running data, route coordinates, heart rate samples, run notes, shoe data, selected photos, or finished images to a developer server.

Distributed builds use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics for usage statistics and diagnostics and display Google AdMob banner ads on Run Detail and Sticker Editing screens.

Advertising and tracking

Google Mobile Ads and User Messaging Platform may process IP-derived approximate location, device identifiers, advertising data, product interactions, crash data, performance data, and other diagnostics to provide and measure ads and for analytics.

Where required, RunMoa presents Google's consent message and Apple's App Tracking Transparency request before requesting ads. If you allow personalized advertising and tracking, an advertising identifier may be used to link activity across apps and websites. If you decline, Google may provide non-personalized or limited ads when permitted. Available choices can be changed from More > Data & Privacy in RunMoa Settings, and tracking permission can be managed in iOS Settings.

RunMoa never includes Apple Health workouts, route coordinates, heart rate, pace, cadence, elevation, run notes, shoe data, or photos in ad requests or uses them for advertising or targeting. The Google Mobile Ads publisher first-party identifier is disabled.

Health data we read

This data is processed on device for summaries, running condition estimates, heart rate zones, charts, personal records, shoe assignments, and sharing layouts, except for the Apple service request described below.

Apple Maps and Weather services

For an outdoor run with an Apple Health route, RunMoa may send the first valid route coordinate and the run start time to Apple Maps for a concise location name and to Apple Weather through WeatherKit for historical hourly weather. RunMoa does not request current-location permission. Weather is omitted when the route, eligible historical weather, or required Apple Weather attribution is unavailable.

Only the resulting display location and weather values are cached on the iPhone. The representative coordinate is not stored in this cache and is not sent to Firebase, Crashlytics, AdMob, or a developer server. Apple's handling of these service requests is governed by Apple's applicable privacy terms.

Data stored on device

Settings, heart rate zone preferences, shoe information and assignments, run notes, personal record review results, derived summary and chart caches, and up to 100 display-only location and weather cache entries are stored in the protected app container and excluded from automatic iCloud/Finder backup. Original route coordinates are not stored in the location and weather cache.

Photos and exports

The iOS system photo picker provides only the photo you select. Photo and sticker composition happens on device. Add-only Photos permission is requested only when you save a finished image. Images and personal backup JSON files leave the app only when you explicitly copy, save, or share them. Personal backups can contain shoe data and display order, run-to-shoe links, notes you wrote, detail metric settings, and monthly or weekly mileage-goal settings; they do not contain Apple Health originals or derived analysis caches.

Firebase

Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics may process identifiers, product interactions, crash reports, performance data, device and operating system information, app version, and diagnostic metadata. RunMoa does not attach Apple Health workout details, route coordinates, heart rate samples, run notes, shoe data, location or weather values, or photos to Firebase reports.
